INGLIS CARE MANAGEMENT NOW A CHOICE FOR SERVICE COORDINATION FOR PEOPLE WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

(Philadelphia, PA) – Beginning August 1, 2007, people with physical disabilities living independently in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties - who are eligible for Medicaid’s Home and Community-Based Waiver Program, can choose Inglis Foundation as their service coordinator.  Service coordination is available for people enrolled in the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare’s (DPW) Independence Waiver program for people with acquired physical disabilities or the OBRA Waiver program for people with physical developmental disabilities.

The Independence and OBRA waiver programs provide community-based services and supports so that people with physical disabilities can live successfully on their own and avoid institutional care.  Both waiver programs coordinate services for daily living assistance, respite care, home modifications, specialized equipment and supplies, personal emergency response systems, skills training, peer counseling, therapies, transportation and much more.

Inglis Foundation Care Management has provided training, support and referrals for people with physical disabilities living in the community since 2002. According to Inglis Care Management Director Carol Jones, “We are pleased to be named a service coordination provider for DPW’s Medicaid Home and Community-Based Waiver system so that more people with physical disabilities than ever before can enroll with us and benefit from the expertise and commitment to quality that Inglis offers.”
