Volunteer ______________________

At Inglis, we always welcome new volunteers who want to share their time and talents.

Volunteers provide an extra dimension of care in the lives of Inglis clients. Most volunteers spend their time at Inglis House where there are many ways to get involved and make a difference. If you are over the age of 18, there are volunteer opportunities available seven days a week, during the day and in the evening.

Inglis staff will work closely with you to match your interests and schedule to just the right opportunity. Here are a few examples of how Inglis volunteers enrich the lives of Inglis House residents:

Red Arrow Accompany residents on regularly scheduled trips to local shopping malls, sporting and entertainment events and cultural destinations
Red Arrow Play cards and games

Red Arrow Staff the in-house convenience store, The Nook, offer clerical assistance to Inglis staff, even act as lobby receptionist
Red Arrow Garden outdoors or tend plants in residents' rooms
Red Arrow Assist with arts and crafts

Red Arrow Provide spiritual encouragement and counseling through discussion groups and assisting with religious services

There is also a junior volunteer program from June through August for teenagers ages 14-17. Junior volunteers get involved with many of the same activities as adult volunteers. In addition to junior volunteer activities in the summer, teenage volunteers also visit Inglis House during the school year to complete community service projects, perform and assist with holiday events. There is also an active pool of local college students who provide service.

Don't see anything you're interested in doing? Why not suggest a volunteer activity you'd like to help with? To schedule an appointment call (215) 581-0718 or email info@inglis.org .
