Inglis is expanding its reach to Pittsburgh with a grant from Highmark Wholecare to establish the Inglis Innovation Center Pittsburgh (IICP) beginning summer 2023 – helping to enhance local resources, services, and programming for people with disabilities.

Highmark Wholecare, the Pittsburgh-based managed care organization, has provided a $614,000 grant to Inglis to transform space at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) – the former Suburban General Hospital.
The three areas of initial emphasis at IICP are focused on technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation to advance accessibility, inclusivity, and independence:
- Inglis Assistive Tech Solutions – assessment, training, device acquisition and support for people with disabilities and older adults to use AT to enhance independence (currently offered in the Greater Philadelphia Region).
- The Inglis Impact Accelerator – an initiative seeking to support emerging entrepreneurs (including those with disabilities) working in disability services and support.
- 3D Printing and R&D Lab – custom and adapted tools and solutions that enhance independence for people with disabilities. (currently offered in the Inglis Innovation Center in Philadelphia, as well as within Inglis House)
