Global Abilities Foundation helps persons with disabilities integrate into society by becoming more active, connecting with resources, learning new skills and leading by example. Each year, the Foundation hosts Rec Fest, a recreation festival for all ages and abilities that showcases wheelchair sports demonstrations, art, scuba diving, and gardening, and organizations providing resources for education, employment, housing, and other services. In addition, they sponsor a wheelchair rugby team based in Baltimore, MD and a pushrim wheelchair racing team with athletes from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. Global Abilities also conducts disability awareness events at schools and companies to increase community understanding of diverse populations and the need for accessibility.  www.globalabilities.org (link opens in new window)
