The Psychological Association Family Caregiver Briefcase is a user-friendly, online resource to help psychologists and other health and social service professionals assist family caregivers through individual and organizational practice, research, teaching, and community service. Philadelphia Corporation for Aging PCA
A private nonprofit organization founded in 1973, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA), is the fourth largest in a nationwide network of Area Agencies on Aging (AAA), and the largest in Pennsylvania. PCA coordinates a broad range of services that help older Philadelphians, and those with disabilities live as independently as possible while achieving the greatest possible levels of health and productivity. How Meditation May Change the Brain
The New York Times featured this article on Meditation and its positive effects on the brain. The findings will appear in the Jan. 30 issue of Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging. The researchers report that those who meditated for about 30 minutes a day for eight weeks had measurable changes in gray-matter density in parts of the brain associated with memory, sense of self, empathy, and stress.

Mindfulness Meditation Linked with Positive Brain Changes, Study Suggest
Meditation and Mindfulness
Scientists have found that a kind of Chinese mindfulness meditation practice is linked with actual physical changes in the brain changes that may even have protective effects against mental illness. Researchers found that after two weeks of practicing this kind of meditation, the study participants had an increase in the number of signaling connections in the brain, called axonal density.
