Movie Starring Actors with Disabilities Makes Oscar History
The movie CODA (Child of Deaf Adult) won the Oscar for Best Movie, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay!
Troy Kotsur became the first deaf male actor to win the prize. His co-star, Marlee Matlin, was the first deaf performer to win an Academy Award for work in Children of a Lesser God, in 1997.
